Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept. 15 – Oct. 15
National Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15th to honor “the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans as we celebrate heritage rooted in all Latin American countries” (www.hispanicheritagemonth.gov/).

April is National Humor Month, and boy, do we need that! This has been one heck of a year, and sometimes, when the chips are down, a good laugh is just what we need to restore our spirits. Laughter doesn’t just boost our mental and emotional well being! It also can be a boost to our physical selves.

By skipping the straw with our beverages at restaurants and take out establishments, not just this Friday, February 26th, but every day, we can make a dent in the potential additions to these piles of plastics which will make our oceans a healthier place for the creatures who live there.
