Every American should be represented, and every American’s vote should count. While the census provides the federal government with valuable information, it also adds a level of complexity to our nation’s political process. This is one of the reasons why it is so very important to vote – even in midterm elections.

A Salute to The Serra Friar

The history of the Serra Friar and its importance to our school’s history cannot be wrapped up in one humble blog post, but it can give us a glimpse into the life of Padres past through the news that student reporters were covering for the paper. As we in the library pack up the Friar archives and ready this section of campus that houses it for renovation, we reflect on all things that have stayed the same and marvel at how much has changed.

New to the U.S. Public Domain in 2022

What is old can now be made new again! Playoff Baseball!

Fall means the Major League Baseball (MLB) playoffs and the World Series keeping us glued to our seats–some years more than others. This year, our own San Francisco Giants will be back in the mix for the first time since 2016 making us a bit more invested in the 2021 playoffs!

Exploring our public libraries

We are fortunate to have such an array of public library resources in our greater communities. Taking them for granted would be a mistake. They are a great gift to be recognized and taken advantage of. Generations of Americans have not had access to the services that are accessible to everybody today. For free. How awesome is that?!
